Qube Logistics – Esperance
BACKGROUND:
To help assist with logistic operations at the Qube facility in Esperance, Safetytech; fire engineered along with designed & constructed the upgrade of the existing fire services.
CHALLENGES:
The initial fire system installed by another organisation some years previously had some underlying issues with flows and pressures. This could be due to the mains water network getting restricted over time by the local water authority. Safetytech needed to review closely the use of the buildings along with materials stored and understand the requirements of the fire system.
SOLUTIONS:
The extension to the storage buildings increased the flow requirements and Safetytech engineered and designed a system which included a backflow prevention device, dual hydrant water tanks and a weatherproof enclosure around the pumpset. The purpose built enclosure made for easy completion of the project removing the requirement for a pump house to be built.
