BACKGROUND:

Completed in 2016, Fedex Warehouse & Administration building is located near the airports cargo terminal, the new site provides the carrier with improved highway entry points, helping to increase the rate at which freight is retrieved and distributed. The Perth Airport hub covers an area 3,000M²

CHALLENGES:

Safetytech were engaged by Adco Construction to design and construct the fire sprinkler & Fire Detection/OWS fire safety system throughout the Fedex warehouse & administration building.

  • Fire Engineering & Alternative Solution DFES submittal
  • Fire Sprinkler Water Tank & Fire Sprinkler Dual Diesel & Electric Pumpset
  • Fire Sprinkler System
  • Window Wetting Drenchers
  • Fire Detection System
  • Occupant Warning System
  • Fire Extinguishers

We knew this project would be difficult, one of the issues been the delivery date. There were a few different issues that arose in the course of the project that put our completion date in jeopardy. One been a request for design change to enable future proofing of the fire sprinkler system capabilities. This was an issue as the pipe was fabricated in the workshop and already delivered to site.

SOLUTIONS:

Safetytech Fire Services’ team pulled together to arrange to save what pipe we could. This involved heavy redesign input via our 3D design system. Pipe was sorted and divided with the majority been transported back to the factory to adjust alter the fabrication to suit the new design. Our teams capabilities to turn the project around on time was very reassuring our senior management.

PROJECT VALUE:

$4 Million
